Paris Kreativ

My sister's friend's mom told me about an absolutely amazing store in Paris!

Even though I have never been there - I can tell you: It's crazy awesome....

I really want to go to Paris now. It's a store called "La Droguerie" and she described it like this: You come into the store and see a whole row of thread, ribbons and yarn hanging from the ceiling - color coded - leading the way through to the back of the store where there are all kinds of vases and flowers hanging around. There are fabrics and little presents, things you look at and just think "I definitely need this....and I want this....and oh - did you see this one?"

They have stores all over France: Paris, Lilles, Rennes, Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille, Nice, Lyon, Strasbourg...

(I might just save some time and travel way and just go to the one in Strasbourg...)

Address:
9 et 11 rue du jour, 75001 paris
Opening Hours:
 Mon 2 - 6:45, Tue-Sat 10:30 - 6:45

Another really cool thing I found in Paris: "Sweat Shop"
They say it has "Berlin flair"...it is a little store - not wanting to belong to the Paris chic. You can rent sewing machines and get professional advice from well-known designers like an assistant from Sonja Rykiel. They also have little craft kits with premade material that you can buy and finish or give someone else as a present.

Address:
 13, rue Lucien Sampaix
75010 Paris
Opening Hours:
Mon closed, Tue & Thu 1-9pm, Wed, Sat, Sun 1-7pm

And for further Paris tips: OutOfPeonies has great ones for a whole trip including a map with the locations!!!

Picture Project

Since I have been sitting around at the lake a lot I figured I had to do something creative. So I got out my camera - which I always always always have on me - and started taking pictures of patterns.

Elise from eliseblaha kind of inspired me. She takes these "Photo Walks" and ends up having beautiful photos to keep. This post specifically inspired me.

After being a little bit bored from just laying around in the sun all day, this gave me a mood swing and I was all there again.

Beads

I found my love for beads again. It was hidden somewhere behind all the fabric and hot glue gun love. And now it's back!

Big beads, little beads, tiny beads....i love them all!

I've been trying out things with different materials. I had this thicker pink thread and some clasp ends (is that what you call them?) you can't see in the picture, then I had plain beads, some glass ones and - well - you can see obviously :)

And then some red white and blue stuff - just had to !

I bought some new ones today - so stay tuned for some more and different bead combinations!

I found this on a blog I follow and figured I'd try to DImyself ! Working on my bead strands....

Where I want to go

...I definitely want to go there some day!!! On my "to go list": LA Fashion District

(both pictures are taken from http://elleapparel.blogspot.de/)

It's amazing how cheap the fabrics are!

...and I want to go here: New York Fashion District

Fashion District, New York 8am

Secret tip from Trash To Couture: The "Mood Fabric" store and from one of the commenters: "Top Trimmings" (she thinks it's on 39th)

Anyone know any good fabric stores or districts? Preferably in one of those cities, or somewhere in Germany. But you can also tell me about fabric stores all over the world. Maybe I'll take a "fabric store trip" all around the world someday. (I might have to pause in between to earn some more money, haha)

So much inspiration

I have found so much DIY Clothing inspiration on Pinterest over the last few weeks...

It's all just waiting to be made.

The only problem is that I have so much fabric that I bought somewhere in the past and planned on making something with it and never got to it. Now I want new fabrics because I have new inspiration.

Here is my new inspiration :)

maybe i'll make this from my other skirts to make them more interesting :)

Some Pictures...

After being a little non-tutorial-crafty this week due to being sick and addicted to SATC I'll just post some pictures of what I've been doing...

painting my blue and white canvas and pausing for some more color --
watching the dog and being happy he is such a funny dog --
some more color to lighten up sickness... --
breakfast with lots of family --
the nature behind the house --
walking around searching for the documenta --
watching the ducks with the kids --
wondering how THAT can be art --
showing off my little DIY shirt refashion --
finding beauty in the things that aren't supposed to be art --
finding this dog hilarious --
little planted garden on the documenta --
the "fairytale tree" as my little cousins called it --
the "dogumenta" ;) --
walking across the little river on rescue boats

and these are fun and colorful night pictures from the big fare we had here in the "little city"
